The Bend in the Branch

The beauty of the branch

is in the sprawling expanse

in the stoic reaching

in the steady growth.

The branch endures cold months

by catching the sunlight

in spiraling fingers.

The branch holds up cherry cardinals

listens to their loving songs

bares the weight of their nests.

The branch will bloom in the spring

and so shall we,

so shall we.
